Sugar Free Indian Healthy and Tasty Dessert "Mawa Gujiya" Recipe

Sugar Free Mawa Gujiya


Makes:-  1440 Gms


Ingredients for Pastry:


240 Gm Refined Flour
6 Tbsp Clarified Butter
Oil
Water


Ingredients for Filling:


150 Gm Chopped Seedless Dates
160 Gm Chopped Dried Figs
240 Gm Crumbled Mawa
20 Chopped Cashew-Nuts
20 Chopped Walnuts 
20 Chopped Almonds



Preparations:


First we sift the Refined Flour into a bowl. Rub in the Clarified Butter till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add 2 Tbsp of Cold Water. Knead into a stiff dough. Cover with a piece of damp muslin cloth. Set aside for 20 minutes. Now we heat a non stick pan then we add the Mawa & saute till the fast separates. Set aside to cool. Now add the Walnuts, Almonds, Cashew-Nuts, Figs & Dates. Mix very well.

Divide into 24 equal portions then shape each portion into balls { like a cricket ball }. Roll out each ball into puri { Indian roti / bread }. Place one portion of the stuffing on one half of the bread, lightly moisten the dege , fold the other half over the stuffing. Press the edges to seal. Pinch the edges to make a design. Heat required oil in a wok. gently slide in a few gujiya at a time. Depp fry till golden brown in color then drain on absorbent paper.Store in an airtight container afte completely cool.
